The Department of Economics at the University of Mainz (Germany) is hosting a summer school on new developments in panel data methods, taking place Au-
gust 19-23, 2013. Lectures will be given by Prof. Jeffrey M. Wooldridge (Michigan State University). The summer school also includes time for participants to
answer problem sets, the solution of which will be discussed thereafter (a pre-liminary schedule can be found on our homepage). In addition, there will be an
International Research Workshop integrated into the summer school, during which a selected number of school participants will be able to present and dis-
cuss their own work.

The summer school, which is organized jointly by Thorsten Schank, Klaus Wälde (JGU Mainz) and Amelie Wuppermann (LMU Munich) and which is part of our
visitors program, is targeted at (advanced) PhD students and post-docs. Please apply to the summer school by sending your CV as an e-mail attachment to
sekretariat.schank@uni-mainz.de until May 30 2013. We will send out notifications on acceptance shortly thereafter. If you additionally want to present at the
Research Workshop, please also send (a draft of) your paper to the e-mail address above.

The participation fee is 550 EUR. This covers accommodation (including breakfast) for 5 nights (August 18-23), the sessions of the summer school as well as
the workshop dinner. For students enrolled in the Graduate School of Economics, Finance, and Management (GSEFM), the course is free and can be credited
as a field course via a take-home exam. The course will then count for 4 ECTS
