Content:

This course is about the principles of systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Examples will be taken from active labor market policies, welfare policies, housing policies, financial education, development policies, climate policies and the like. The role of replications as a validation tool is also addressed. Students will be given the opportunity to run their own meta analysis based on a dataset of publications on active labor market policies. The course aims at enabling students to critically assess systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Students interested in a career at policy related institutions will learn how to use systematic reviews for evidence-based policy-making. Students interested in an academic career will learn how to use systematic reviews for developing their own research agenda.
