Vor Beginn des Videocalls:
- Sorgen Sie für eine adäquate Hardwareausstattung. Eine Kamera ist nicht nötig, Sie sollten aber über ein Mikrofon verfügen. Ggf. können Sie auch Ihr Smartphone verwenden.
- Sorgen Sie für eine ausreichende Bandbreite Ihrer Internetverbindung. Weniger geeignet sind bspw. Internetverbindungen über Tethering. Seien Sie am besten mit einem stabilen WLAN oder mit einer LAN Verbindung verbunden.
- Stellen Sie Programme, die die Auslastung Ihrer Internetverbindung beeinflussen, während des Videocalls ab. Dazu gehören bspw. Filehosting Programme wie Dropbox, Videostreams wie Netflix, größere Downloads etc.
- Befinden Sie sich an einem Platz, der weder von Lärmemissionen beeinflusst wird, noch diese auslöst.
- Seien Sie rechtzeitig zu Beginn des Calls anwesend.
Während des Videocalls:
- Mit Ausnahme von Seminaren, deaktivieren Sie bitte prinzipiell Ihren eigenen Videostream, d.h. Ihre Kamera, und aktivieren Sie Ihn nur wenn sie eine Frage stellen wollen bzw. explizit dazu aufgefordert werden.
- Stellen Sie prinzipiell Ihr Mikrofon auf stumm und heben Sie diese Einstellung nur auf, wenn Sie eine Frage stellen wollen etc. (Nach Behandlung Ihrer Frage bitte wieder das Mikrofon auf stumm schalten.)
- Nutzen Sie sofern vorhanden die "Melden / Arm heben" Funktion um dem Dozenten zu signalisieren, dass Sie eine Intervention bspw. in Form des Stellens eines Frage vornehmen möchten.
Im Falle einer globalen Störung des Videocalls:
- Bewahren Sie Ruhe, es ist sehr wahrscheinlich, dass der Dozent von der Störung ebenfalls betroffen ist und diese somit direkt bemerkt.
- Beobachten Sie das Postfach Ihres studentischen Emailaccounts. Wir verfügen über einen Emailverteiler aller Teilnehmer des jeweiligen ILIAS Kurses und kontaktieren Sie dann zeitnah um Sie zu informieren ob und wie die Veranstaltung vorgesetzt wird.
Generell gilt:
- Dies ist auch für uns eine neue Situation.
- Wie robust die Technik ist lässt sich nicht vorhersagen, wir haben versucht bestmögliche Voraussetzungen zu schaffen.
- Sofern Sie Verbesserungsvorschläge haben, wenden Sie sich gerne an Ihren Dozenten / den Ansprechpartner der Veranstaltung.

Prior to the video call:
- Please make sure that you are equipped with adequate hardware. A webcam is not necessary, but please make sure that you have a working microphone. If necessary, you might also be able to use your smartphone.
- Furthermore, please make sure that you have a sufficient broadband connection and be connected via a stable WiFi or LAN connection.
- Please make sure to shut programs that affect your broadband connection during the call. This includes e.g. file hosting services like Dropbox, video streams like Netflix, high-volume downloads etc.
- Please make sure to not be disturbed by any kind of noise during the call.
- Please make sure to be on time for the call.
During the video call:
- Except for seminars, please disable your own video stream (your webcam) and enable it only if you want to ask a question or are asked explicitly to do so.
- In principle, please mute your microphone and unmute it only if you want to ask a question or are asked explicitly to do so. When your question has been dealt with, please mute your microphone again.
- If available, please use the push to talk feature in order to signal the need for an intervention (e.g. for a question) to the lecturer/contact person.
In case of a breakdown of the video call:
- Keep calm. The lecturer will likely be affected by the problem as well and will take notice of it.
- Keep an eye on your student e-mail account. The chair has a mailing list of all participants of the ILIAS course at its disposal and will contact you and let you know if and how the meeting will be continued.
As a general rule:
- This situation is not only new for you, but also for us.
- We cannot predict how well the technology will be working, but we aimed at providing the best prerequisites.
- If you have suggestions for improvements of any sort, please feel free to contact your lecturer / contact person.
